MALKA SIMA was born from the belief that fragrance should draw you closer and linger softly. Rooted in apothecary and botanical craft, our perfumes are inspired by a flower in its most vivid form, a fireside conversation, a memory that wants to stay. With thoughtful formulation and an emphasis on natural raw materials, we build scents that are true to life. Each one is a walking poem, leaving space for both the origin and its evolution on your skin.

Us

The perfumer of MALKA SIMA is Max Turk, the nose and author behind this collection. She runs the apothecary and perfumery in Portland, OR where she compounds and bottles these perfumes by hand, then sends them out to you. 

The brand’s visual identity and voice were developed in collaboration with Lane Walkup and Joe Schlaud. Lane is an artist and writer, Joe is an artist and designer.

All of Us 

We gratefully acknowledge that if it were not for a request from Marketa Irglova and Glen Hansard for Max to make a special scent for The Swell Season's 2025 tour, MALKA SIMA may never have come to be. Thread the Light started it all. 

It makes sense that music, storytelling, visual art, kindred spirits and scent memory have all played a role in building this house. These scents are vignettes of life experienced.
